CNC Milling Services By Master Machine Works
If you’re searching for dependable CNC milling services we are glad you found us. Master Machine Works is one of the most professional and affordable sources in the industry. We offer both manual and CNC milling services.
Our exceptional results start with our people. We have 40+ year journeyman machinists on staff to help ensure your project goes smooth. We have invested in state of the art software to take your design and machine it perfectly with our ‘art-to-part’ process. We then have a fleet of milling machines to choose from in order to ensure your parts are milled to specifications.
Our CNC milling services start with machines using a cutting tool which moves on three planes (X,Y and Z Axis), removing material from the subject block to achieve the desired part shape. The cutting tool rotates perpendicular to the table that holds the subject material waiting to be cut. Then the cutting tool protrudes down towards the material which is held on a table which will move below the cutting tool. While the cutting tool turns, it moves up and down on the vertical (Z axis) and the table which is holding the material is moving on the horizontal X and Y axis. The cutter removes material from the subject material to create your part. Beyond this, the material can be turned to accommodate more than 3 axis of milling, such as 4 axis. Even more, the cutting tool can be placed on a rotating head, which can move as well providing for 5 axis milling. The possibilities are almost endless with technology.
Our CNC milling services have advantages over other manufacturing processes. First, it is cost effective for prototyping and short runs. Our staff can deliver small quantities of functional prototypes before you commit to molding or high-volume machining. Complex shapes and tight tolerances are possible. High finish grades can be achieved. Our savvy CNC Programmers can make our CNC milling machines produce almost part.
CNC milling services are used to plane a surface or to mill out pockets and/or holes in plastic or metal parts. We have a huge array of CNC milling machines, typically running operations including; milling bearing races, milling pockets, milling penetrations, milling flanges, milling plates, milling motor components, and much more.
Some common cutting tools we use include:
- Plain endmill – Used if you need 90 degree edges and sharp corners.
- Chamfer endmill – Used if you need 45 degree bevels
- Angle endmill – Used if you need walls at angles other than 90 degrees
- Ball mill – Used if you need rounded edges at the bottom edge of a recess
- Rounding endmill – Used if you need rounded edges at the top edge
- Grooving endmill – Used if you need rectangular grooves
We stock a huge variety of materials daily, including most metals like Steel, Brass, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Titanium, Bronze, Silver and plastics like ABS, PVC, Acrylic, Fiberglass, Carbon Fiber, Acetyl, Nylon, Poly carbonate and more.
